Byron Ballagh grew up playing and singing music and has over 25 years experience in choral directing. Some of his directing and singing accolades include: founder of Soundsation (1990-2002); Teeswater Homecoming choir and band (1989); Mount Forest Harmonaires; Homegrown Harmonies - Lucknow Homecoming (2018); Singer Christmas Tree Director - Walkerton (2018); Bruce County Junior Farmer Choir (1982 - 1986); Bass singer in the award winning quartet Here Comes Treble; Bass singer in On Q quartet. He can hardly wait to share his love for choral music with the members of Sing!
Maria Ballagh has been singing her whole life, starting in elementary and secondary school choirs and musicals, followed by musical productions in college. She sang with the Grey Bruce Singers in Hanover for 12 years and was deeply involved as Secretary and Director's Assistant for many years. She produced the Homegrown Harmonies Show Chorus for the Lucknow Homecoming in 2018 which her husband, Byron, directed and together with their choir, they put on two 2 1/2 hour shows! She currently sings bass with the Sweet Adelines Bluewater Chorus in Owen Sound and is looking forward to sharing her love of music with her new choir family in Sing!
